Why Saints Must Enjoy Christ as the Good Land "in the Light"

1 Pet 2:9: "That you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light"

Daily drawing on the efficacy of Christ's precious blood, experiencing forgiveness and cleansing

Generating Life (Honey)

Christ's resurrection life is sweet like honey, bringing heavenly enjoyment

Only in light can we see Christ's true appearance and rich content

Every breaking of bread gathering should enjoy Christ with reverence and thanksgiving

1 Cor 10:16-17: "The bread which we break, is it not the fellowship of the body of Christ?"

1 Cor 11:23-26: "This is My body...This is My blood of the covenant"

Isa 25:6: "Jehovah of hosts will prepare for all peoples on this mountain a feast of fat things"

Psa 23:5: "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies"

Psa 16:11: "In Your presence is fullness of joy"

Riches of the Feast

Enjoying Christ's redemptive and resurrecting all-sufficiency at the Lord's table

Christ's riches of milk and honey are opened to us in the bread-breaking meeting

The rich feast of Passover prefiguring Christ's abundant supply

Focusing on Christ in meditation during bread-breaking meetings, experiencing His riches

Divine-Human Satisfaction

Both God's intention and human needs are completely satisfied at the Lord's table

This is the center of God's eternal plan and the deep longing of the human heart

Deep blending with the Lord at His table, experiencing heavenly rest and satisfaction

(4) Light promotes fellowship - only in light can we have real communion with the Triune God and all saints.

 

This is not a one-time experience but the normal Christian life, especially at the Lord's table where we enjoy Christ as our good land "in the light," experiencing His redemptive and resurrecting life in all its fullness.
