Entering Within the Veil vs. Going Outside the Camp

Entering Within the Veil vs. Going Outside the Camp

Hebrews 6:19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, and it enters within the veil.

Hebrews 6:20 Jesus, the forerunner, has entered within the veil for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 13:13 So we also must go out to him outside the camp, bearing the reproach he suffered.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sober mind.

Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

Romans 8:6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace.

Aspect

Entering Within the Veil

Going Outside the Camp

Meaning

To enter the Holy of Holies where Christ, having ascended, is enthroned in glory; to fellowship with the heavenly Christ and enjoy His ministry and supply (Heb. 6:19–20).

To leave the religious camp, outside of all earthly and human organizations, and follow Jesus who was rejected and suffered reproach (Heb. 13:13).

Way / Method

Turn to and exercise the spirit (1 Tim. 4:7–8; Heb. 4:12).
Set the mind on the spirit (Rom. 8:5–6).
Stir up the spirit (2 Tim. 1:6–7).

Refuse to remain in the camp of the mind (religious thought and tradition).
Receive strength in spirit to endure Christ’s reproach (Heb. 12:2–3).
Walk the narrow way of the cross with Christ.

Distinction

Inward experience: entering God’s presence, enjoying Christ in spirit, being infused and supplied with Him.

Outward testimony: leaving religion, bearing reproach with the suffering Christ, manifesting Him to men.

Examples

Moses entering the tent of meeting to speak with God face to face (Exo. 33:9–11).
The high priest entering the Holy of Holies once a year (Heb. 9:7), prefiguring our constant entering through Christ.
Paul beholding the Lord and being transformed in spirit (2 Cor. 3:18).

Christ crucified outside Jerusalem’s religious system (John 19:17–20).
Paul persecuted by Judaism because of the New Testament ministry (2 Cor. 11:23–33).
Believers partaking of Christ’s sufferings (1 Pet. 4:13–14).

Application

Daily turn to spirit, exercise spirit, and enjoy Christ as the hidden manna, budding rod, and law of life (Heb. 9:3–4).
In the veil, receive equipping to supply the thirsty outside the camp.
Become Christ’s reproduction to express Him corporately.

Refuse dependence on religious organizations and follow Christ directly.
Bear the reproach of the cross with Christ (Heb. 13:13).
Serve others in love and life beyond religious regulations.

Key Scriptures

Heb. 6:19–20; Heb. 10:19–22; Heb. 4:12; Rom. 8:5–6; 2 Tim. 1:6–7; 2 Cor. 3:18; Heb. 9:3–4

Heb. 13:13; Heb. 12:2–3; 2 Cor. 11:23–33; John 19:17–20; 1 Pet. 4:13–14

 Conclusion:

Entering within the veil enables us to enjoy the heavenly Christ and His supply; going outside the camp enables us to follow the suffering Christ, being separated from religion to live out His testimony. The two complement each other: enjoying Christ inwardly in spirit gives us strength to manifest Him outwardly.
