Whole Heart

The center of man’s inward being, representing love and focus; the source of motive involving mind, will, and emotion.

Emphasizes the origin of loving God; the root of all.

Peter saying three times, “Lord, You know that I love You” (John 21:15–17).

Guard the heart above all (Prov. 4:23); keep motives pure before God.

Governs the soul’s three parts (mind, will, emotion); like arteries needing to be cleared.

Mark 12:30; Prov. 4:23; Jer. 24:7; Rom. 10:9–10

Whole Soul

The person’s personality: mind, will, and emotion.

Emphasizes the entire person turned to God, not just the motive.

David: “Bless the LORD, O my soul” (Ps. 103:1).

Turn thoughts, decisions, and emotions to God in daily life.

Flows from the heart; the soul expresses the love originating in the heart.

Mark 12:30; Ps. 103:1; 1 Thes. 5:23

Whole Mind

The thinking faculty of the soul: reasoning and concepts.

Emphasizes renewed thinking; avoiding natural concepts that hinder love for God.

A believer’s view of marriage and family changes from natural to spiritual.

Pray for light to expose natural thoughts and confess them.

A part of the soul; if not renewed, it becomes an “arterial blockage” in loving God.

Mark 12:30; Rom. 12:2; Eph. 4:23; 2 Cor. 10:5

Whole Strength

Human physical energy and outward actions.

Emphasizes practical outward expression of loving God.

Paul labored more abundantly than all the apostles

 (1 Cor. 15:10).

Use time, resources, and energy to serve and glorify God.

If not supported by heart, soul, and mind, may degrade into legalism or fleshly effort.

Mark 12:30; Eccl. 9:10; 1 Cor. 6:20; Rom. 12:1

Conclusion:

  • Whole Heartorigin of love
  • Whole Soul scope of love
  • Whole Mindrenewal of love
  • Whole Strength expression of love

Together, they form a complete flow:

Heart (source) → Soul (personality) → Mind (renewal) → Strength (expression), resulting in a life fully permeated with love for God.
