The Blessings God Promises Us to Enjoy Today -Eternal Satisfaction vs Eternal Covering vs Eternal Shepherding (Revelation 7:16–17)

Revelation 7:16 They will hunger and thirst no more, and the sun and all its scorching heat will not harm them.

Revelation 7:17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd and lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.

John 6:35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.”

John 4:14 “Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst; and the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters.

Meaning

Christ Himself as our inward, immediate, and eternal satisfaction

The Lamb as the Shepherd who continually supplies and leads

Reason

Without Christ, hope without fulfillment produces hunger and thirst

Man cannot withstand trials and scorching circumstances by himself

Man can never live well by himself

Tabernacle, shadow, wings, rock’s shade

Shepherd and sheep, fountain and river

Explanation

Not how satisfying we think Christ is, but that Christ satisfies us

Not a change of environment, but being hidden in God

Not a one-time act, but daily shepherding

Result

Never hungry, never thirsty

The sun and heat cannot harm

Led to the springs of the water of life

Mutual Relationship

Satisfaction brings rest

Rest issues in covering

Under covering we enjoy deeper shepherding

Example

The Samaritan woman drinking the living water

Those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High

The sheep in Psalm 23

Application

Contact God in spirit and drink of the Spirit

Abide in God’s presence and word

Depend on the Lord, not on ourselves

Burden

Bring people to Christ Himself

Bring people into a hidden life in God

Bring people under the shepherding of the Lamb

Prophesying Guide

Spiritual Integrative Summary:

Revelation 7 shows that God’s promised blessings are not merely future comforts in heaven, but present realities we can enjoy today on earth. By believing into Christ and contacting Him in our spirit, He becomes our eternal satisfaction, ending all hunger and thirst. By being hidden in God, dwelling under His shadow, the scorching heat cannot harm us. By admitting that we can never live well by ourselves, the Lamb shepherds us daily, feeds us, and leads us to the springs of the water of life. Though tears remain in this age, they are being swallowed up by life, until their ultimate removal in the New Jerusalem.

One-Sentence Prophetic Declaration:

Today I enjoy Christ as my satisfaction, God as my covering, and the Lamb as my Shepherd, who leads me to the springs of the water of life.”
