Local Churches vs. the Universal Church
1 Corinthians 1:2 To the
church of God in Corinth, to the saints who are sanctified and called in Christ
Jesus, and to all who everywhere call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
is theirs and ours;
1 Corinthians 10:32a To Jews
and Greeks and to the church of God…
1 Corinthians 12:13 For we,
whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, were all baptized in one
Spirit, becoming one body, and all drink from one Spirit.
Romans 12:4 Just as in one
body there are many members, and not all members have the same function;
Romans 12:5 So also we, all of us, in Christ, are one body, and each one a member of one another.

Summary
The universal
church is God’s eternal vision; the local churches are its present expression.
To see the Body delivers us from narrow localism; to live in the local church
brings us into the Body’s reality.
Our work is not to establish local grounds, but to build up the Body of Christ.
*Ultimate
Conclusion
God has only one
church— the universal Body
expressed through many local churches.
The true practice is:
To live the
universal Body in local expression,
to manifest Christ through coordination,
and to consummate in the New Jerusalem.
