Matthew 3:2 Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 24:14 And the gospel of this kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son;

Item

The Kingdom Is the Genuine Gospel

Meaning

The gospel of the kingdom is God's complete and all-inclusive gospel. It not only forgives sins and imparts the divine life but also brings people under God's heavenly rule so that His eternal purpose may be fulfilled.

Reason

God's salvation is not merely to rescue people from perdition or prepare them for heaven; it is to transfer them out of Satan's kingdom into the kingdom of the Son of His love (Col. 1:13), making them citizens of God's kingdom under Christ's authority.

Illustration

Hub and Spokes: The kingdom is the hub; life, grace, salvation, forgiveness, justification, regeneration, sanctification, transformation, and glorification are the spokes. Everything exists for and revolves around the kingdom.
Building: Life is the material, grace is the supply, salvation is the foundation, and the kingdom is the completed building.
Tree: Life is the root, grace is the sap, salvation is the branches, and the kingdom is the mature fruit.

Explanation

The gospel of the kingdom includes:

(1) forgiveness of sins, (2) the impartation of eternal life, (3) the gospel of grace,

 (4) God's heavenly government, (5) the powers of the coming age,

(6) authority over demons and sickness,

and (7) bringing believers into God's kingdom under Christ's kingship.

Result

Believers are delivered from the world and the authority of darkness into God's kingdom, experience the growth of life, live under God's ruling, express the reality of the kingdom in the church today, and are prepared for the coming millennial kingdom.

Purpose

To establish God's kingdom, produce the Body of Christ, build up the church, prepare the Bride, bring Christ back, accomplish God's eternal economy, and consummate in the New Jerusalem.

Relationship

The Gospel of Life imparts life; the Gospel of Grace supplies life; the Gospel of Salvation rescues from sin; the Gospel of Forgiveness removes barriers; the Gospel of the Kingdom brings all these aspects into God's heavenly administration. Thus, the kingdom is the center and completion of every aspect of the gospel.

Biblical Examples

John the Baptist: "Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near." (Matt. 3).
The Lord Jesus: Preached the gospel of the kingdom while healing the sick and casting out demons (Matt. 4:23).
The Twelve Apostles: Proclaimed the kingdom with kingdom authority (Matt. 10).
Philip: Preached the kingdom of God (Acts 8:12).
Paul: Proclaimed the kingdom of God until the end of his ministry (Acts 28:31).

Application

Gospel preaching today should not merely lead people to make a decision for Christ but should bring them into the church life and under Christ's kingship. Believers should live daily under the Spirit's ruling so that the divine life may mature.

Ministry Burden

The burden of the Lord's recovery is not only to preach the gospel of grace but also the higher gospel—the gospel of the kingdom—to every inhabited land, testifying that Christ is both Savior and King and that the church is the present reality of the kingdom.

Prophesying Guidance

Speak concerning:

 (1) the kingdom as the center of the gospel,

 (2) life, grace, salvation, and forgiveness existing for the kingdom,

 (3) living today in the reality of the kingdom, and

 (4) the worldwide proclamation of the gospel of the kingdom before the Lord's return.

Conclusion

The kingdom is not something separate from the gospel; the kingdom itself is the all-inclusive and highest gospel. Without the kingdom there is no completion of the gospel. Every aspect of the gospel ultimately brings people into God's kingdom, where God gains His ruling and fulfills His eternal economy.
