Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city, set on a hill, cannot be hidden.

Matthew 5:15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 6:22 The eye is the lamp of the body. Therefore, if your eye is single-minded, your whole body is bright;

Matthew 6:23 but if your eye is not focused, your whole body is dark. Therefore, if the light within you is dark, how great is that darkness!

Ephesians 5:8 For you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. 

Item	The Way to Be Saved from Deception and Self-Deception
Meaning	Deception is the condition in which a person loses spiritual discernment in darkness, calling wrong right and darkness light, while sincerely believing that he is correct. To be saved from deception is to live in God's light, receive His shining, and allow everything hidden to be exposed so that one may walk in reality.
Cause	After the fall, mankind departed from God, the unique source of light. Living in the self, the soul, the flesh, the world, and Satan's deception, man easily becomes self-righteous, self-confident, and self-deceived, losing God's inward shining.
Illustration	(1) A traveler lost at night who confidently believes he is on the right path. (2) A color-blind person who mistakes colors without realizing it. (3) Eyes covered with dust that distort vision. (4) One who kindles his own fire instead of walking in God's light (Isa. 50:11). (5) A dark room whose dust becomes visible only when sunlight enters.
Explanation	The greatest danger is not merely sinning but sinning while believing oneself to be righteous. Deception is not simply making mistakes—it is confidently trusting one's mistakes. God's way of salvation is not first to give more knowledge but to shine His light. When light comes, life operates; life produces an inward sense; and by following that inward sense, believers are delivered from darkness.
The Way	God's ordained way is not to rely on natural wisdom, reasoning, knowledge, or self-examination, but to turn to God, the unique Light, and continually live in His shining. This involves: (1) turning to the Lord with an open heart (2 Cor. 3:16–18); (2) daily prayer and reading His Word (Psa. 119:105, 130); (3) following the inner anointing and the sense of life and peace (Rom. 8:6, 14; 1 John 2:27); (4) allowing God to search and enlighten us (Psa. 139:23–24); (5) immediately repenting and confessing when convicted, receiving the cleansing of Christ's blood (1 John 1:7, 9); (6) remaining in the fellowship of the church and the Body (Heb. 10:24–25; Eph. 4:15–16); (7) keeping a single eye focused on Christ and seeking only God's glory (Luke 11:34–36; John 5:44); and (8) progressing from receiving the light to reflecting the light, becoming the light of the world (Matt. 5:14–16; Phil. 2:15).
Result	(1) Delivered from darkness. (2) A sensitive conscience. (3) Clear knowledge of one's true condition. (4) Living before God. (5) Fellowship with God and the saints. (6) Growth in life. (7) Bearing the fruit of the light—goodness, righteousness, and truth.
Purpose	God's intention is not merely to expose or condemn man but to bring him back into Himself as the Light, so that believers may live in light, life, and fellowship, eventually becoming the light of the world to express God.

Paul: encountered the great light on the road to Damascus (Acts 9). The church in Laodicea: thought it was rich but was actually poor, blind, and naked (Rev. 3:17–18).
Application	(1) Spend time with the Lord daily. (2) Read His Word faithfully. (3) Keep an open heart before Him. (4) Do not trust natural judgments. (5) Maintain a single eye. (6) Confess sins immediately. (7) Remain in the fellowship of the Body. (8) Seek God's glory rather than man's praise.
Ministry Burden	God's recovery is not merely a recovery of biblical knowledge but a recovery of divine light. Meetings, prayer, fellowship, and prophesying should bring God's shining into His people so that the church may become the golden lampstand shining forth Christ. Those who build up the church are those who continually live under God's shining.
Prophesying Guidance	Central burden: God's recovery is not to make us more knowledgeable but to bring us into the light. (1) God is light. (2) The greatest danger is not sin but being unaware of sin. (3) A deceived person always believes he is right. (4) God's Word brings light. (5) A single eye fills the whole being with light. (6) Light brings life, and life restores fellowship. (7) Only those who walk in the light can become the light of the world.
Conclusion	Every genuine spiritual revival begins not with power, activity, or knowledge, but with God's shining. The more we live in God's light, the more we are delivered from self-deception; the more we are delivered from self-deception, the more we live by the divine life; and the more we live by that life, the more we express Christ as the light of the world.

Deception is not primarily a lack of knowledge but the absence of God's light. Self-deception is not merely an intellectual mistake but a heart that prefers darkness. God's way of salvation is not self-improvement or self-generated light, but turning to Christ, the unique Light, receiving the shining of God's Word and the Spirit, accepting His searching, repenting, confessing, and living in restored fellowship. In this way believers are delivered from deception, grow in the divine life, become the light of the world, build up the Body of Christ, and fulfill God's eternal economy.
